What is a Vasectomy Reversal?

Vasectomy reversal reestablishes an open vas deferens to allow the sperm to reach the ejaculate once again. To accomplish this, the vas deferens is connected to another healthy segment of vas deferens or to a tubule of the epididymis.

When the severed vas deferens ends are reconnected it is called a vasovasostomy.

When the vas deferens is connected to a tubule in the epididymis it is called a vasoepididymostomy.
